Canadian & denim connoisseurs Naked & Famous make a comeback with their newest creation – the Craftsmen Selvedge. This release is a tribute to an era when what we now consider lightweight denim was the rugged, durable fabric of choice for workers globally.
Departing from the prevalent 3/1 twill weave found in most contemporary denim, the Craftsman Selvedge embraces a historical approach with a 9oz, tightly woven 2/1 twill construction. Ideal for those sweltering summer days, this lightweight denim keeps you cool and comfortable under the harshest sun. It strikes the perfect balance between durability and comfort, as the tight twill weave minimizes the risk of snags and tears, ensuring it can handle today’s demands just as effectively as it met the challenges of yesteryear’s work environments.
The Craftsman Selvedge features an indigo exterior complemented by a grandrelle twisted yarn interior weft, blending black and ecru for a subtle grey hue reminiscent of traditional workwear. Despite its lightweight feel, this denim maintains a crisp texture due to its hard-twisted yarns, providing a dry hand feel.
Designed to develop character over time, the Craftsman Selvedge will fade softly and gracefully, unlike heavier denim that exhibits more pronounced fade lines. Its unique selvedge ID is characterized by a pristine white edge on one side and two distinct stitches on the other.
