A timeless Paraboot model, the Reims loafer draws inspiration from the French brands iconic Michael silhouette. The Reims is a hybrid, merging the sleek uppers of a subtle beef roll loafer with the substantial sole unit of Paraboot’s signature Michael model. The result is a striking and sturdy chunky loafer that has stood the test of time.

The Reims, previously known as the Lance, is a coin loafer by Paraboot. Although its production ceased in 1995, it was revived in 2009 due to the rising popularity of round-toe shoes and numerous requests from fans. This loafer is considered a variant of Paraboot’s renowned “Michael” model. Incorporating design elements and manufacturing techniques from Tyrolean shoes, traditional footwear of the mountain tribe.

The uppers are crafted from Paraboot’s classic full grain leather, also seen on the Michael. This distinctive material, characterised by being soaked in more oil. Paraboot’s signature and is incredibly strong and durable. The natural grain contains the strongest fibres in the hide. It’s also extremely breathable, resulting in less moisture from prolonged contact.

While wearing your favourite leather shoes on a rainy day is usually a bold choice. These loafers cut from full grain leather can handle harsh weather. Besides excellent water resistance and resistance to rain stains, the leather is also highly durable. This material, unique to Paraboot, originates from their expertise in manufacturing mountaineering shoes.

During the tanning process, the leather is infused with oil, ensuring that it retains its oil content even after many years of use. Paraboot’s skilled craftsmen shape the upper by cutting the leather at the optimal angle, carefully avoiding areas with vascular marks and scars. The finest quality leather is then oiled, imparting a luxurious sheen. This luster, distinct from that of glass-polished or wax-polished calf leather, is so exquisite that it has been dubbed “the jewel of France.”

As with all Paraboots, the Reims are handcrafted in France – more specially in a small commune Izeaux in the heart of the alps. The are manufactured with Norwegian stitching, making them resolable & the insides are cushioned by a leather lining – all sitting on a natural rubber sole.
